My loves: Aesthetics, Beauty, and Colour.

I have been lured away from my morals; it was a sly but subtle, sweet seduction of six years that preyed on my weakness. Glimmers of promiscuity were oozing out so slowly that my puritanical nature seemed intact, but the evidence is crystal: I flit from one to another, I am of easy virtue yet notoriously hard to satisfy, and I do not discriminate when soliciting. One can only deduce that I am indeed promiscuous, and it is simply not a practice that favours favouritism. It is laughingly ironic though, that in all my debauchery, all I am really looking to do is settle down forever: I want to find the one.

The elusive holy grail, in any given cosmetic category, is something that one can become obsessed with discovering; I am most certainly obsessed. Equally noteworthy, however, is my anally utilitarian nature; I am not a collector. While I do scope out new releases and salivate over jewel toned swatches, I am essentially looking for products that I will not break up with. I want the cosmetic equivalent of a stylish Parisian’s capsule closet: a minimal collection of high quality basics complimented by interchangeable shades and textures of shadow, lipstick and blush.

Hereby I have created QuixotiKalon: an amalgamation of notes on what I love, lust and loathe, as I continue to edit my current spoils. In keeping with the name, this space will be characterised by an underlying appreciation of a multi-faceted, idealistic beauty. Perhaps needless to say then, it follows that I place great emphasis on integrity as an uncompromisable asset. All the ensuing posts written by myself will contain my candid thoughts with a full disclosure of any conflicts of interest.

And with that, I introduce myself. Hinna.
